Asprey is a PhD Candidate in Anthropology at Columbia University. Her ethnographic research focuses on new technologies, practices, and discourses of sustainability among emerging markets investment professionals in New York and London. Asprey is interested in how sustainable investment in emerging markets is defined and produced at the intersection of policy, finance, development, and regulatory institutions. She aims to understand how practitioners in these fields approach questions of ethics, politics, and global capitalism in the context of climate change, intensifying inequality, and a shifting geopolitical landscape.
