Courses

The aim of this course is twofold: it provides students with the conceptual knowledge and familiarity necessary to distinguish between different affects/effects of naming, and it works as an advance introduction to contemporary debates in anthropology via theorizations on what proper names are and do. In doing so, the course introduce students to the application of anthropological analysis, both as a mode of apprehending cultural processes and as a social critique.
