Biography
Antara Chakrabarti's research focuses on the confluence of ecological precarity, engineering interventions, and border-making, to ask how stable expert authority leads to a fixing of environmental knowledge in a geographically fluid landscape marked by a political border. She examines this along a shifting river-border, with the looming presence of a large diversion-dam, in the Ganga-Padma deltaic region.
She is currently the General Editor of Borderlines, a web journal that seeks to rethink theory through research situated in South Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
